A new generation of the 3 Series shall be launched by BMW, and this isn’t the most interesting part! The addition oh a hybrid model beats everything, especially knowing BMW and the motto they have: “ultimate driving machine”, thus they have been seen testing the new acquisition at Nurburgring.
It can tell the fact that we are dealing with a hybrid because of the stickers that are applied on the car, and the rear of it, which have been used before for hybrid BMW models.
Even though there are very few details regarding the engine of the car, speculations have been made, reason for which we are able to tell you what we supposed until now. The hybrid BMW is expected to be powered by a combination of a six-cylinder mill and an electric motor. However, we can’t exclude the possibility of the car using a four-cylinder petrol engine as part of the hybrid powertrain.
One of the things we can be certain of though, is the fact that BMW won’t make the same mistake it did with X6 ActiveHybrid, which has recently been discontinued, due to the fact that it was way too powerful, way to heavy and way too expensive.
The 2013 BMW 3 Series is expected to arrive late next year, with the present development, which should use the “ActiveHybrid 3” designation, set to arrive soon after the launch of the regular versions of the car.
