BMW has recently released a new promotional video that celebrates the 8-Series.

The 8-Series was built between 1989 and 1999 and was the company’s flagship coupe and the first production car with a drag coefficient of less than 0.3. In fact it was not only very aerodynamic, but also had a pillar-less design and was the first model of BMW to come equipped with dynamic stability control.

While the model has been fitted with a variety of engines over the years, the range-topping 850CSi came fitted with a 5.6-liter V12 that generated 380 HP (279 kW). This enabled the car to touch the electronically-limited top speed of 250 kmph (155 mph).

BMW is also considering a new 8-Series coupe which will be influenced by the Gran Lusso Coupe concept. Though officially remains unconfirmed but a source said that the company wants to send out the message that the future is not just about electric cars but also traditional models with real emotional appeal.
