Whereas the BMW i3 is a very efficient electric vehicle (EV), the BMW i8 is a very awesome EV. Yet, it seems that even that has yet to satisfy some of the BMW fans out there, particularly this one. There has been an image coming from a fan of the luxury German automotive brand and according to the fan in question, this is how the BMW i9 should look like. Well, this is not entirely impossible. After all, rumor has it the German automaker will actually launch the i9 in the oncoming 2016 in order to celebrate its centennial anniversary.
To tell the truth, this image rendered by the said BMW fan looks as if it had come out right out of a science fiction movie. The car looks very futuristically wild, in a good way. It seems that this fan in particular really knows how to create a potent future model for BMW vehicles. As a matter of fact, the rendered BMW i9 seems to take the already futuristic and attractive design of the BMW i8 to a whole other level.
Yet, even though this i9 rendered by the fan may not be coming to any BMW dealerships in the world, the real i9 from BMW will actually be arriving at the company’s dealerships starting from the year 2016. As mentioned earlier, that is when the luxury German automaker will be celebrating its 100th year in the automotive industry.
Speaking of the upcoming BMW i9, rumor has it the vehicle will take advantage of the chassis of its predecessor, the BWM i8. In addition to that, the car will also pack a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine with a modular configuration. The engine will also be mated to a large electric motor.
Altogether, the engine will give the BMW i9 a peak power output of 362 hp and a peak torque of 570 Nm. The car is also likely to blast from 0-60 km/h in just four seconds or less.
