BMW M4 customer racing car to debut in December

by SpeedLux

BMW recently announced that a new M4 DTM will replace the existing M3 DTM and now there are some sources that have informed that another race car is in the works.

Tentatively called as the “M4 Race Car,” the model will reportedly debut in late December this year and be homologated to compete in the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship as well as European FIA events.

Talking about engine, the car will reportedly come fitted with an upgraded version of the M4’s TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. It will allegedly have a standalone engine management system (EMS) that can be easily tuned to enable the model to produce more than 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque.
The source further stated that the model will be a cost effective race car that will appeal to customer racing teams who want something affordable and user friendly. The pricing has not been out yet but there are speculations that it would cost around € 65,000 (which is approx $ 88,290 / £ 54,950).

Well we expect more details to be out soon as the car is expected to be launched this year itself and so we would keep you updates about the same.
