The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe has been envisioned recently in a digital avatar by RM Design as a fully-fledged M model.
With BMW’s recent tendency of creating niches, the Bavarian marque could be very well plotting an M4 Gran Coupe for those car fans who aren’t satisfied with the almost identical M3 Sedan. As you would imagine, the differences between the two would be quite minimal as the only major change that we can think of will be the more sloped roofline at the back and a hatch configuration.
Talking about the power, it would borrow the same high-revving six-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged engine from the M3 Sedan & M4 Coupe where it generates an output of 431 HP (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. This engine is further mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or a quicker seven-speed optional M DCT.
Since theres an M6 Gran Coupe, BMW is most likely planning to have a similar version for its smaller sibling as well. We will have to wait till further updates received regarding the model.
