BMW to Offer 1-Series Facelift?

For the past few days, hype has built up on a particular image that seems to depict a new vehicle from the luxury German automaker, BMW. The image seems to depict a facelift version of the German company’s 1-Series vehicle model. Unfortunately, the image may not look as clear as expected. Yet again, it is cropped from an Auto Bild issue that features the vehicle. So far, there are still some uncertainties regarding the rumor. After all, it is completely unknown whether the supposedly 1-Series facelift image is actually just a rendered image or is a real image from BMW. It seems quite legitimate, though. Taking that into consideration, chances are, BMW will announce a mid-cycle refresh for its 1-Series, which is an entry level model, on the web pretty soon.

It all seems to add up if you try to remember that last month’s reports which suggested that the German company would reveal the facelift version of its 1-Series in January 2015. So, it has happened, it seems. Speaking of the BMW 1-Series facelift, the vehicle comes with quite a lot of revisions that are actually needed for the model indeed. The front fascia of the car now no longer sports those peculiar headlamps which may look strange, and even weird, to some people out there. Instead, the vehicle now sports a more conventionally designed pair of headlamps that are infused with LED bulbs, optionally. This gives the 1-Series facelift a similar look to the company’s 2-Series model.

The new 1-Series will reportedly come with a 3-cylinder engine as well. The engine is derived from the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer. In addition to that, smaller motors will be available as well to power up the German company’s 116i and 116d entry level models. There are also reports that a BMW 1-Series sedan will be coming as well and will run on a front-wheel-drive (FWD) drivetrain.
