German automaker BMW is going to recall over 139,000 of its 3-series cars in China from November 9, due to a defect in the air-conditioning system, the market regulator stated.

The recall concerns 89,309 vehicles produced in China from May 2005 to July 2011, and 50,143 imported vehicles manufactured from January 2005 to July 2011, the State Administration for Market Regulation stated.

BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd, a joint venture from northeast China, and BMW China Automotive Trading are going to check the vehicles and replace the faulty parts free of charge.
