The motorbike of the future is so safe riders can travel sans helmet– all of the thrills with none of the threat as per BMW.
The German automaker has revealed its Motorrad Vision Next 100, a streamlined, self-balancing model the automaker released as part of its 100th-anniversary celebrations.
The zero-emissions bike has got self-balancing wheels developed to stand upright even at a complete stop, stability that the company states will enable riders to forgo riding a helmet.
“Its self-balancing system will help protect the rider at any time,” stated Edgar Heinrich, the design director of BMW’s motorcycle division. “Any late reaction from the driver will trigger and the vehicle will stabilize out.”
“In the future, motorcycle riders will have the ability enjoy in riding without protective equipment.”
Despite its modern features, the bike will not be totally self-driving, the company stated.
BMW aims to commercialize totally self-driving vehicles by 2021, a business spokesperson informed.
The Munich-based group has been working together with US computer system chip huge Intel and the Israeli innovation firm Mobileye to establish self-driving vehicles.
Last year, the Munich-based group likewise signed up with forces with its German competitors Daimler and Audi, the high-end subsidiary of Volkswagen, to purchase the ‘Here’ digital mapping service from Nokia to help in the effort.
