A guy and a lady who were discovered dead in a car on a residential estate might have died from accidental carbon monoxide gas poisoning, police informed.
Thomas Putt, 20, and Nikki Willis, 23, were found in Fox Crescent, Chelmsford, on Monday early morning. They were declared dead at the scene.
Post-mortem tests have actually shown inconclusive.
Essex Police cautioned anyone who customizes a car to obtain it checked out by a qualified mechanic.
Police informed they were not treating the deaths of engineering apprentice Mr Putt, of Wren Close, Leigh-on-Sea, and store employee Ms Willis, of Fox Crescent, Chelmsford, as suspicious.
A police representative said: “Present investigations do not suggest their deaths were the outcome of an intentional act.
“Among the lines of inquiry police are examining is the possibility they may have died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.
“Tests will be performed on the vehicle, which will consist of establishing whether any modifications have occurred.”
Ms Willis’s household commemorated a female who “loved life and constantly had a smile”.
“You will never ever be forgotten, always and forever in our hearts and memories. Our angel now has her wings.,” statement included.
Mr Putt’s household stated: “We are entirely surprised and devastated at the death of our darling child Tom. He was a whirlwind in our lives from the first day, constantly cheeky, always smiling.”
