The American brand has released its hatchback right-hand drive model Cruze in the United Kingdom in the same day as the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in Leicester.
The company is promoting its Cruze model in every auto market. Now after a Bumblebee Limited Edition was launched in China, in the UK customers can already buy the hatchback version.
“The timing and location were perfect for us to launch the new Cruze hatchback. With our WCC team in attendance providing hospitality for press, we were able to make use of the great facilities at Donington before allowing press the opportunity to test the new car on the local roads. With a great mix of rural and urban routes right at Donington’s doorstep we were able to offer press all-encompassing opportunity to try our new car, throwing in a bit of fun on a specially prepared rally stage too. A great event for all who attend”, said Craig Cheetham from Chevrolet.
The new Chevy was not only put through its wheels on the road, but it has also been used in a rally-inspired event on Donington Park.
In UK, Chevy Cruze customers can choose between two petrol engines, the basic 1.6 L 16V, which develops 124 HP, and the 1.8 L 16V and 141 horsepower, both available with the five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
This model includes, as standard features, ABS to control braking, TCS (traction control) to keep you firmly on the road and ESC (Electronic Stability Control), which works with both in the event of you having to make an emergency maneuver. Aside from this, EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution) controls the front and rear braking effort, providing stability in extreme situations.
In UK, the right-hand drive Chevy Cruze will go on sale later this month with prices starting at almost 14.000 pounds.
