Chevrolet’s Boss has uncovered plans to introduce the 2014 SS on February 16th.
Revealing about his plans, Jim Campbell said the model would be revealed ahead of the Sprint Unlimited Race. Like Campbell noted, “This is the first time that we’ve completed this in decades, where we’re going to introduce a brand new model at a racetrack.”
Not much has been revealed about the model, but as confirmed earlier it will be rear-wheel drive and feature a V8 engine – possibly the new 6.2-liter EcoTec3 that made its debut on the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The car will be similar to the Holden VF Commodore and is there is every possibility that it would pass through the production process later this year.
The Chevrolet SS is a dynamic concept and there are expectations that this model would make its mark on the race track as well off the track. It has the versatility and the mobility to participate in any racing event and the model is most suited for Nascar Series.
