China’s auto sales increased 18.7 percent in February

China’s auto sales in February increased 18.7 percent year on year to 1.74 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Auto sales in the January-February period amounted to 4.27 million units, increasing 7.5 percent year on year.

In February alone, sales of passenger vehicles saw a boost of 27.8 percent year on year to 1.49 million units.

Chinese automakers manufactured 1.81 million vehicles in February, a boost of 20.6 percent year on year, the association said.

Auto exports increased 60.8 percent from a year ago to 180,000 units last month, bringing total exports in the first two months of the year to 412,000 units.
