Photos and some introductory details about the new 200 Convertible model from Chrysler have been released following some recent press leaks of the upcoming vehicle. The expectation that the model would be a face lifted Sebring Convertible added with a drop top, a refined exterior and some revamped interior work has proved true when one goes though the official details posted by the maker themselves.

There is the unique feature of this car where the customer gets to choose between two automatically latching tops. A body-colored retractable hardtop is one of the options and the traditional cloth soft top is the other option that one could go for. Both the tops are operated by a button on the key fob.

There is also the added feature of a media center with voice command that offers Sirius Satellite Radio and a 30 gigabyte HDD/CD/DVD/MP3 radio with SIRIUS Travel Link for real-time information.

The engine that powers the car is a 173 HP 2.4 liter four cylinder or the brawnier, 283 HP 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 unit, both mated to a six speed automatic gearbox. Every part of the suspension has been modified and that includes 22 of 28 suspension bushings which gives better handling experience to the driver of this car.

The model in the US market would be available in three trim levels, which are Touring, Limited and S.

Come March and the Geneva Salon people in Europe could look forward to the 200 convertible with a Lancia grille and badges.
