After years of research and development, the Corvette Sin-R1 road car is all set to enter production. Initially, the Sin R1 supercar was unveiled in 2013 and the automaker was situated in Munich, Germany. But since then, the company has moved to Bulgaria where the R1 was spawned a road-going version known as the R1 RS. Sin is officially going to unveil the car during this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Sin started out building race cars for private customers, usually as rolling chassis, but eventually decided to expand into the world of turnkey models. The company also works very closely with British firm ProFormance Metals in developing their cars. The chassis of the car is of tubular spaceframe design and is covered around with a carbon fiber body.
Sin says that the engine is mid-mounted and they are offering three performance levels. The standard variant is General Motors Company’s 6.2-liter LS3 V-8, capable of producing 430 of horsepower. For more power, buyers can opt for a 530-hp 7.0-liter LS7 or even the 650-hp supercharged 6.2-liter LS9. The standard transmission is a paddle-shifted sequential unit, though a six-speed manual with limited-slip differential is available. Moreover, the Sin-R1 comes with assorted new upgrades of interior and exterior, these include new ABS and traction control systems as well as a revised interior with a multi-function steering wheel, dash-mounted screen, air conditioning and Recaro bucket seats. Apparently the supercar can sprint 0 to 100 km/h is just about 2.5 seconds which is the same as the Buggati Veyron.
