Fed up with his child smoking weed and “acting all thug,” a Florida father sold the teenager’s SUV on Craigslist.

And he concurred to take $250 off the price if the purchaser lived in the area simply so his child would see the automobile every once in a while to remind him “how good he had it!”

Allan Gieger Jr. informed CNN he did it just with his kid’s benefit at heart.

Gieger purchased his boy the ’98 Ford Explorer for his 16th birthday to drive to school and to work. But like a lot of teenagers, the more youthful Gieger had some other, uh, ideas.

“I’ve been having some issues with my son over the past year,” Gieger stated. “I don’t want to see him struggle the way I did.”

Like the daddy who shot his child’s laptop computer, or the mother who posted a video of her scolding her teen for suggestive posts, Gieger’s is the current example of parental difficult love that has captured the Internet’s interest.

The Craigslist post was shared over a thousand times on Facebook, and received lots of positive reviews.

Gieger says he has actually gotten calls and messages praising him for standing for up for other moms and dads.
