Daimler on Thursday said it would propose Bernd Pischetsrieder to be elected as the chairman of the automaker after former Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche withdrew his candidacy for the job.

Pischetsrieder is a former chief executive of Volkswagen Group from 2002 – 2006 and he also worked with BMW from 1993 – 1999.

Daimler also said that Elizabeth Centoni, Ben van Beurden, and Martin Brudermueller are going to be put forward for election to the supervisory board at the automaker’s 2021 annual general meeting.
