If you think a car should always have no less than four wheels altogether so as to keep its balance or give it a high performance, well, it seems you may have to think again. Believe it or not, there is now an upcoming car model that comes with only three wheels, not more. Coming from the New Davis Motorcar Company, the car will reportedly be known as the Divan II.
Judging by the very first rendered image of the car in question, it is out of the question that the car is a very futuristic one. The car should have a considerable performance since it is light in weight. However, it is constructed of highly strong composite materials, even including the fullerene carbon-70.
At this point of time, there may not be too many details available yet in respect to this new car from Davis. Nevertheless, the automaker in charge of the development of the 3-wheeler in question claims that the car will benefit from a highly unique powerplant and that it will feature an autopilot model. Speaking of the latter, customers can expect a cruise control system that is sensitive to the speed of the vehicle, lane departure warning system and an automatic parking feature.
As if that is not interesting enough, the car will even have a self-driving function that is highly revolutionary. This function, according to Davis, will be controlled by an onboard digital assistant. This digital assistant is the result of the work performed by an expert in the robotics field from the US Robotics department, Dr. Susan Calvin, Ph.D.
On the interior, passengers of the car will also benefit from 2-way bench-style seats which are capable of accommodating four passengers across. In addition, passengers will also get to enjoy a dual zone climate control function as well as the Corinthian leather material that is highly luxurious. This material even comes with an approval stamp that comes right from Ricardo Montalban.
Kevin Flynn, President of the New Davis Motorcar Company, claims that the company and its staffs are challenging themselves to provide customers with a vehicle lineup that is out of the box in terms of visual design as well as technology. He even goes as far as to claim that the Davis Divan II is surely bound to make a huge impact on the world, at least by altering what is possible for its users.
