Dinan’s 720-HP Custom BMW S85 V-10 Engine – Dyno Test [Video]

If you’re a BMW’s fan, then you know what the current generation M5, the E60 can do. Well, for those who don’t know all the details, you must learn that the M5, available since 2004, takes its power from a 5.0 Liter BMW V10 S85 engine developing 500 SAE hp (373 kW, 507 PS) at 8250 RPM. The key features of the new generation BMW M5 series, the E60 is its aluminum chassis, while the power is transferred to the wheels through a 7-speed SMG III manual transmission or through a new SMG III electro-hydraulic manual transmission.

All these makes this vehicle the perfect ar for many of its owners. However, for those who aren’t satisfied with these numbers, the folks from Dinan found the perfect solution: the Riley MkXXV, which is powered by the bored and stroked 5.8-liter S85 V-10 shown in the dyno video below.

The tuner was able to give this engine a real power boost considering that it turns out 720 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and 497 pound-feet of torque at 6,900 rpm. In addition to this massive power comes the unique sound, while the glowing purple exhaust headers are the icing on the cake.
