The Viper from Dodge is undeniably a great car with a great performance. Yet, something still feels missing as the company has yet to offer its loyal customers with the ACR variant of the vehicle. Fortunately, according to the most recent reports, the American automaker has actually done just that, it has given a green light for the production of the Viper ACR to commence.
As reported by the Allpar, which should prove to be quite a trustworthy source, the approval for the production of the ACR has been given just recently. It is said that the start of the production is slated for July this year itself. The ACR edition of the Viper from Dodge, however, will be designated as a 2016 instead of a 2015 model year vehicle.
Unfortunately, to tell the truth, no one has really got to know too much in respect to the upcoming variant. However, during the 2014 SEMA Motor Show event in the US, the American company actually previewed what the upcoming Viper ACR will potentially look like, through the concept version. Well, if the upcoming ACR edition of the snake is actually going to be based on the concept shown at the 2014 SEMA Motor Show, buyers should be able to expect stuffs like a prominent wing on the rear fascia of the vehicle, carbon fiber canards, a carbon fiber front splitter and also an aerodynamic body kit. Other notable components should include a set of carbon ceramic disc brakes, suspensions tuned for track use, ventilated front fenders and also 19-inch bespoke alloy wheels finished in the satin black hue.
The sporty styling is not visible only on the exterior, but also on the interior of the vehicle. The cabin features the Alcantara leather upholstery material, to begin with. In addition to that, customers will also find carbon fiber trim and sport seats, among other stuffs. The car has also had its weight reduced thanks to the removal of sound deadening material, amplifier and carpet.
