No money, no card, no concerns. Vehicle drivers in Dubai can refuel their cars in a brand-new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) allowed cashless function at all Enoc petrol stations.
Referred to as VIP or Vehicle Identification Pass, the prepaid system, much like Salik has been in location for two years specifically for corporate consumers.
Going live from Monday, VIP will enable all drivers to set up and register RFID tags, offered at all 112 Enoc stations.
Balance in the VIP account would be maintained through the Enoc stations or through online at the website vipselect.enoc.ae.
The one time registration and purchase of RFID tag will cost Dh250 ($68.06).
A motorist can sign up multiple vehicles under a single account however tags will need to be bought for all the cars.
The system is anticipated to save a minimum of 3 minutes per customer at petrol stations, as VIP is a completely automated system with very little human interference.
“All that attendant have to do is put the fuel nozzle inside the fuel tank, everything else is automated. Customers can even pre-programmed the amount for each refuelling and the type of petroleum can likewise be pre-selected,” stated Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director of Enoc, after introducing VIP at a petrol station in Al Twar.
Vehicle drivers will get an SMS and email after every transaction and will be able to operate their accounts online.
Al Hashemi stated that Enoc will release the VIP mobile app in the 3rd quarter of this year.
