In case you have yet to notice, Mercedes-Benz has officially announced that it is adding a new engine option to its current generation C-Class model. This new engine will be a turbocharged 1.6L engine. Yet, besides the new engine, the luxury German marquee has even announced officially that it is going to offer new C-Class models and equipment.
Based on recent reports, customers will soon be able to expect a C200 4MATIC as well as a C220 d 4MATIC variant. Both these variants will be coming with a 4-wheel-drive (4WD) drivetrain. For the petrol version of the model, customers will benefit from a 2.0L engine that delivers 184 HP and 300 Nm of power and torque. The diesel version, on the other hand, comes packing a 2.1L engine under its hood. The latter delivers 170 HP and 400 Nm of power and torque, respectively.
For the ultimate option, customers can always opt for the C300 variant. This one comes with a tweaked 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, enabling it to spit out no less than 245 HP of power output. This engine also enables the car to accelerate from a complete standstill to the figure of 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. The Estate (wagon) variant of the model, however, will take a bit longer, 6.1 seconds. The C300 also has a fuel consumption ratio of 6.3 L/100 km. For the Estate, it is 6.4 L/100 km.
The luxury marquee from the German soil has also made an official announcement, hinting that customers can now choose to install additional luxury amenities to the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class model. These amenities include a revised interior trim with numerous choices, a heated steering wheel, touchpad, a head-up display and also quite a wide array of smart assist features to help the driver on the road.
