Ferrari 458 Speciale revs its V8 engine at Fiorano circuit

by SpeedLux

A video of Ferrari 458 Speciale has been revealed recently in action stretching its V8 muscles undergoing testing at the Fiorano test track in Italy.

With this video, we have got a chance to see the more hardcore 458 with a different exterior paint scheme with blue and sky blue racing stripes. As you would imagine, that is certainly not camouflage as the car has already been revealed in production guise earlier at the recently concluded Frankfurt Motor Show this month. The white film is to protect the paint against any potential damages while the car is being put through its paces.

The biggest asset of the 458 Speciale is that it comes with Ferrari’s most powerful V8 naturally aspirated engine ever made till date, which is a 4.5-liter motor generating an output of 605 HP (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque.

With this engine, the model can accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 3 seconds and will be able to lap the Fiorano circuit in just 1m 23.5s. The latest prancing horse has a weight of 1,290 kg (2,844 lbs) and has received a high-performance Brembo braking system and specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
