Ferrari offers Kimi Raikkonen seat for 2014

by SpeedLux

As per a recent report, Kimi Raikkonen has been offered a seat to drive Ferrari for 2014 season.

As per the Germany’s Bild newspaper, Kimi Raikkonen who is already wanted by Lotus next year and also is in the running to switch to Red Bull, is now a contender to drive a Ferrari. Raikkonen drove for the great Italian marque for three years and even went on to win the title in 2007. He left Ferrari one year early at the end of 2009 when the team replaced him with Fernando Alonso.

Alonso, who is under contract through 2016 with Ferrari, has been linked with a shock move to Red Bull, while Brazilian Felipe Massa’s deal ends at the end of the current season. There are reports of rift between Alonso and Ferrari to which the President of the company has denied clearly. But we feel this is probably the reason why the company may have decided to opt for Kimi Raikkonen.

According to the reports, Ferrari has made the Finn an offer which is quite lucrative as compared to what is being promised by Red Bull’s offer of $15 million retainer fees, performance bonuses, and sponsorship of his motocross team.
