Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV stated on Thursday that it will recall 570,000 SUVs for fire dangers in 2 campaigns connected to problems with vanity mirror wiring as well as a low-pressure hose pipe.
When its safety efforts are under analysis from U.S. regulators, Fiat Chrysler’s recall comes at a time. Earlier this month, it accepted pay another $70 million in fines for failing to report vehicle accident fatalities and injuries since 2003.
The Italian American car manufacturer stated on Thursday it is recalling 477,000 2011-2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs after the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened examination in May to identify if vehicles serviced in a prior related recall went to danger for fires.
Fiat Chrysler stated overheating was reported in 0.02 percent of automobiles serviced in the previous recall. Fiat Chrysler stated if the recall procedure was “not adhered to exactly, could leave vehicles at risk to a short-circuit, creating a possible fire hazard”.
Fiat Chrysler has recalled and estimated of 12 million automobiles this year in the USA in some 40 different recalls, a record for the automaker.
