Fiat Punto Sporting introduced in the UK

We all know that Fiat Punto is now starting to show its age which the company has also realized and so the company has plans to spice things up by introducing a new Sporting variant in the United Kingdom.

Designed to attract younger buyers, the Punto Sporting comes equipped with a sporty body kit that includes features such as revised side skirts, rear spoiler, tined headlights, a gloss black roof, 16-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone finish. Other goodies include a sport-tuned suspension, front fog lights and a chromed tailpipe. The changes to the cabin are quite limited and include a sports steering wheel, a Tarmac finish dashboard and a leather gear knob and handbrake lever.

Though the model boasts of the sporting variant, the Punto Sporting is only available with 1.4-liter petrol engines that can generate output of just 77 HP (56 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW).

The Punto Sporting will be offered as a three- or five-door hatchback and pricing kicks off from Ł 12,355 (OTR). Well the pricing is not bad but how much it is able to attract the buyers, especially the younger lot, we will have to wait and watch.
