Yes, this particular vehicle from the US automaker, Ford, is a very legendary vehicle and has always been one of the most expensive cars money can buy. Yes, it is still very expensive even though it was actually launched a long time ago. Considering the Ford GT is basically an old car, fans must have been waiting for the next generation variant of the model. Well, rumor has it the US automaker is ready to present the successor to the original Ford GT when the 2015 Detroit Auto Show opens its doors to the public this oncoming January 2015.
As reported by the CarScoops, the US automaker is currently hard at work as it is trying to prepare a very special edition GT successor. This next generation Ford GT will have a very limited production run, only 1,200 units of the model are to be built. The car will reportedly feature a high performance yet efficient engine. Chances are, the car will have a V6 EcoBoost engine hiding under its engine hood. This engine is expected to spit out 600 hp of power output at its peak.
Another interesting thing about the successor to the current generation Ford GT is that the vehicle will also mark the company’s 50th anniversary of becoming the victor of a very prestigious racing competition, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Well, it is not every day that you can win such a highly proud and prestigious event, is it? That said, it is only appropriate to commemorate the event with a very special occasion. For Ford, this occasion is to be the launch of its all-new GT. The car will be offered as a 2016 model.
