Ford Motor expects to triple the output of its all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV to more than 200,000 units annually by 2023 for North America and Europe, its CEO Jim Farley wrote in a tweet on Friday.
Farley wrote on Twitter: “It’s hard to produce Mustang Mach-Es fast enough to meet the incredible demand, but we are sure going to try. So starting in 2022 we are increasing production and expect to reach 200,000+ units per year for North America & Europe by 2023. That’s 3x our 2021 output. ⚡️⚡️⚡️”
Introduced in 1964, Ford Mustang had 72,489 sales in 2019, which was described by the automaker as “Mustang sales totaled 72,489 cars this year, making it America’s best-selling sports car for a fifth straight year.
