Skoda has recently introduced the Octavia Greenline in UK with a base price of 20,150 GBP.
The most economical version of the Octavia promises to return an impressive 88.3 mpg UK (73.5 mpg US or 3.2 liters / 100 km) with corresponding CO2 emissions of just 85 g/km. Under the hood there is a 1.6-liter TDI engine producing 110 HP (81 kW) and comes equipped with a stop/start system and a brake energy recuperation system which sends the recovered energy to recharge the battery.
Skoda fitted the Octavia GreenLine with low-rolling resistance tires which are offered only on this model and are inflated at a higher pressure in order to diminish friction with the road. These tires cover the 16-inch Velorum alloy wheels that are offered as standard along with cornering front fog lights.
Talking about the external looks, the only differences compared to the regular Octavia versions are the added “GreenLine” front and rear badges and a logo placed on the gear lever. The Czech automaker claims that the model has a BiK rating of 13% for 2014 and VED Band A status and so the running costs will be pretty lowers and kept down to a minimum.
