Introducing a new brand with an all brand-new vehicle is a big challenge. Launching in the high-end area is even more of a difficulty. Hyundai, the top Korean maker, introduced its Genesis brand in late 2015 and followed on with the 2017 Genesis G90 Luxury car in last year. Owners of the brand-new Genesis G90 have rated their satisfaction with their vehicle. Their scores have the G90 accomplishing the all-time highest score in AutoPacific’s 2017 Vehicle Satisfaction Award research.
Hyundai has developed a new standard with the Genesis G90 in its first year out. Majority of automobiles are well-made today. The key remains in the execution. The rest of the industry has not been stalling. All significant automakers having at least some design and engineering abilities in the United States. The leading brand in the satisfaction research study was Lincoln closely followed by Cadillac and Genesis. The most popular brand was General Motors’ GMC truck brand.
There are twenty-three sectors in AutoPacific’s Vehicle Satisfaction Award research. Eight were won by American brand. 7 were won by Japanese brands. 4 were won by Korean brands. 4 were won by European brands.
Nissan was the top brand name with 5 category victories. Kia was second with three.
Only one American vehicle won its class. The Dodge Challenger is the top ranked in the Sporty Car category. The other nine vehicle categories were won by Japanese, Korean and European brands. Seven of the eight awards won by the American brands remain in truck and SUV classifications.
