Get Ready for a Hot Yaris from Toyota!

A number of media from Australia and Japan are now giving out reports which indicate that the Japanese automaker, Toyota, seems to be working on a hot variant model of the Yaris hatchback. Yes, whether this is true is still to be seen, but the Japanese automotive marquee has actually mentioned officially that it is going to make a comeback at the WRC series in the year 2017. With that in mind, it is not impossible at all that reports from the Australian and Japanese media are actually pretty accurate.

Chances are, the Japanese company is cooking up a hot Yaris variant that uses the chassis of the next generation model. It is also believed that the car in question will be legal for road use. Speaking of the upcoming hot variant of the Toyota Yaris, a Japanese magazine known as the Best Car has come up with a potent rendering of the vehicle. This rendering is made by taking into accounts all bits and pieces of information that rightfully come from sources that have quite a close relationship with the Japanese automaker.

As reported by the Motoring magazine, the upcoming Toyota Yaris will be backed by a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine. This engine is derived from the engine used on the NX 200t from Lexus. The engine produces 235 bhp and 349 Nm of power output and torque, respectively. It is also reported that a 6-speed manual transmission will send power to the front wheels of the vehicle.

For your information, the next generation model of the Toyota Yaris is scheduled to make its world premiere sometime within 2016. As such, the hot variant of the Japanese hatchback may not be making its way until at least the oncoming year of 2017.
