Hamann Typhoon based on Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG

Mercedes-Benz G-Glass was first designed to be reliable and rugged off-roader. Nowadays top of the line models also feature very powerful engines(G55 AMG has 500 horsepower) and plenty of luxury.

What we have here is a modified version by German tuning house Hamann that they call Typhoon.

As always with all Hamann creations they have upgraded the engine, that now packs 600 horsepower and 782 Nm (576 lb-ft) of torque thanks to new electronics and a revised transmission.

Performance numbers for this modified G-Wagen are very impressive. 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) comes in 5.1 seconds and new top speed is 261 km/h (162 mph).

What we don’t find impressive is the way it looks. Exterior enhancements include new carbon fiber mirrors, door handles, fender vents, new grille, roof spoiler, new front spoiler with LEDs and a new rear bumper. All this rides on gigantic 24-inch wheels.

Interior is upgraded with carbon fiber trim and new upholstery, which makes the interior look like one of these small strip clubs at red-light district in Amsterdam.

We don’t like it, but surely there are people in Dubai and Russia who are already placing orders for this bling-bling edition.
