Only recently, a number of official images depicting the latest Pilot model from the Japanese automaker, Honda, happened to surface on the World Wide Web. Now, the Japanese company has officially brought the car in question to the Windy City, a.k.a. Chicago. Yet, the car is now standing still and firmly at this year’s Chicago Auto Show event.
Designed as a 2016 model year Pilot, this vehicle sports a newly designed front grille consisting of three bars. The grille is flanked by the vehicle’s angular headlamps and one of the bars from the grille even stretch to the headlamps. Moving around to the sides and back of the car, other elements visible include a highly distinctive design for the taillights, a rear spoiler mounted on the tailgate of the vehicle and also a roof that slopes down gently.
Up to the time being, Honda remains discreet when it comes to the technical specifications that the car is going to offer. Instead, the company unveils that those customers who purchase higher trims of the vehicle will be eligible for 20-inch bespoke alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, and also LED headlamps as well as LED daytime running lights.
Stepping into the cabin, owners of the car will be able to enjoy a host of premium features. These features include soft touch plastics, a considerably large center console, LED map lights, 8-inch display audio system, and even heated seats and steering wheel. A 9-inch display audio system is also available for an option.
Power is to come from a 3.5L V6 engine. Equipped with the company’s cylinder deactivation technology, fuel consumption is actually pretty efficient. The engine can also work with either a 6- or 9-speed automatic gearbox. A front-wheel-drive (FWD) system comes standard but customers can always avail the all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
