Honda details the 2014 Civic Tourer

Honda has recently revealed a brief description of the company’s latest product that is being developed exclusively in Europe.

Civic Tourer chief engineer Adrian Killham has given the details about the 2014 Civic Tourer. The biggest plus of the model is its class-leading 624-liter (22 cubic feet) cargo capacity which makes it more spacious than the previous first place holder, the Skoda Octavia Combi that had the space of 610 liters. If you fold down the rear seats, the model gets an impressive luggage capacity of 1,668 liters (58.9 cubic feet). It also comes with rear “Magic Seats” that can be easily folded in just one motion without much effort.

The design pretty much resembles the five-door hatchback with the exception of the bigger and longer rear designed to increase boot space. Under the hood, power would be provided by a 1.6-liter i-DTEC engine generating 120 HP (88 kW) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque. Customers will also have an option to go for a 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine producing 142 HP (104 kW) and 128 lb-ft (174 Nm) of torque.

The 2014 Honda Civic Tourer will be produced in United Kingdom and is scheduled to go on sale early next year.
