One of the most popular Japanese automakers in the world, Honda, has made good use of the currently lasting 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event in Detroit, US, to introduce a new range of engines. The new engines are being introduced in addition to the introduction of quite a few new vehicle models that the company will be offering to buyers in the foreseeable future.
Speaking of the new range of engines, first of all, the Japanese company claims it will introduce new VTEC Turbo engines with four cylinders before 2015 comes to an end. Well, unfortunately, there are not too many details in respect to these new engines at the moment. However, Honda mentions that these new engines will extend the range of the company’s Earth Dreams engines. As such, they will offer a fun driving performance while at the same time making sure that efficiency is achieved at the highest level possible. Honda reveals that it plans to start developing these new engines at its Anna, Ohio, plant later this year.
In addition to that, the Japanese automaker also takes the liberty to introduce to the public its upcoming vehicles that the company claims will have a high performance, thanks to the advanced powertrain they utilize. Honda claims that by the year 2018, these new vehicles and powertrains will have leveraged the company’s current powertrains that still count on the Earth Dreams technology.
The company also reveals that buyers of the Honda vehicles in the future can also get their hands on an all new Honda vehicle that completely runs on battery and electricity. In addition to that, there will also be a completely new plug-in hybrid vehicle model and several new hybrid vehicles. The latter will reportedly come with either a 2- or 3-motor hybrid systems developed by Honda itself.
