Fans of Mercedes-Benz, the luxury automaker from Germany, may well rejoice for the company has now officially unveiled its plan to offer facelifted versions of its GL and ML vehicle lineups. According to reports, these facelifts will be presented by the company this year itself. It seems to be related with the company assuming the year 2015 as the year of the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV).

If you have somehow forgotten, the luxury automaker from the German soils has introduced the GLE Coupe very recently. As a matter of fact, the vehicle model in question is still bowing to the visitors of the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event that is currently being organized at Detroit, US. Yet, the company has made clear that some other models are in its pipeline as well.

First off, the company mentions that it is working on a GLE model. This is basically a facelift of the company’s ML vehicle model. The Mercedes-Benz GLE will reportedly come to the NYIAS this April 2015 and will have a plug-in hybrid system, making the car a green vehicle.

Then, Mercedes-Benz claims that later in 2015, it will also be introducing a new vehicle model that will bring the GLS moniker. This will be a facelift for the company’s GL-Class model. Then, sometime in between the lifespan of the vehicle, the German company may even offer a variant that comes with more luxurious amenities. This is due to the Mercedes-Maybach division, which was formed only recently. As of the moment, this division only makes the more luxurious variants of the S-Class model, which is at the top of the range of vehicles produced by Mercedes.

Lastly, for those waiting for an update of the company’s GLK crossover model, they will be treated with a refresh this year. Mercedes-Benz is reportedly working on the GLC lineup that will serve as the facelift of its previous GLK crossover, which is quite small in size.

It seems that whichever facelift model buyers are expecting, they won’t have to wait for long. The thing is, as reported by the Autoblog, all of the facelifts mentioned above have been spied while undergoing factory tests.
