Honda Motor stated on Thursday it will recall almost 650,000 Odyssey minivans in the United States spanning 2011 to 2016 model years as second-row seats might not secure the event of an accident.
No injuries or accidents have been reported associated to this problem, Honda’s U.S. department stated.
2 different recalls will be carried out, Honda and U.S. safety regulators stated. The biggest includes 634,000 Odyssey minivans for 2011 to 2016 model years, and a smaller one impacts about 7,600 of the 2016 model year Odyssey minivans.
Lots of few minivans will be recalled in Canada and Mexico, however Honda did not have details about the number.
In each of the recalls, the 2nd row of seats might not secure the event of an accident in particular conditions, U.S. regulators from the National Highway Traffic Administration and Honda stated.
Owners in the bigger recall will be alerted by letter in mid-February. The parts to repair this concern will not be offered till the spring, Honda stated.
In the smaller recall, Honda stated it will inform owners in January.
