Hyundai shows its rally intentions with the Veloster Race Concept – 2012 AIMS

At the Paris Motor Show, Hyundai Motors launched their, i20 WRC and promised to return to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and Now Hyundai’s tuning team unveils the new Veloster Race Concept at the AIMS(Australian International Motor Show), and its also possible that they may hit the race tracks of Australia in 2013. The Veloster Race Concept has been engineered to meet all possible regulations and requirements laid out by the FIA and CAMS. The Hyundai Veloster race Concept has been developed in Australia, by a set of specialist engineering team withstanding the extreme rigour of the race track, the car’s body has been stripped down to a body Shell and has been rebuilted to the exact standard.The project was led by the same technical team that conducts all ride and handling tuning for Hyundai production vehicles in all over Australia.

The car has been built by local race specialist engineers to meet the CAMS Australian Tarmac regulations, which uses lightweight components and high performance racing parts, and hereby following is the technical spec-sheet of the Concept Veloster:

Engine-1.6-litre turbo engine, Twin-scroll turbocharger, Stainless steel hi-flow exhaust system, Six-speed manual transmission, Multi-point roll cage (FIA and CAMS compliant), DMS 4-Way adjustable suspension, Super Pro roll control suspension bushes.

Interior- Light weight carbon interior, Recaro Spa Hans, carbon seats, Multipoint 3″ seat belts, Sparco race steering wheel, Anti-glare dash board.

Exterior- Alcon race brakes with front : 4-Pot, 355mm rotors, and Rear with: 2-Pot, 300mm rotors, Alcon hydraulic handbrake, Stainless steel brake lines, Project Mu competition brake Pads, Kevlar high pressure fuel lines, Team Dynamics 18 x 8 race wheels, Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tyres, Carbon mirrors Custom rear wing, Custom front lip spoiler.

Safety- Sparco on board fire extinguisher system.
