The automaker, Skoda, has made it official that its flagship vehicle model, the Superb, will make its official debut completely undisguised come February 17, 2015. The announcement has come rather quietly that not too many people out there are actually aware of it.
Owned by the German automaker Volkswagen, the automaker Skoda actually has its plan for the launch of the all-new Superb disclosed when it started posting on its official website about the scheduled launch date of the aforementioned vehicle model. With that being said, the Skoda Superb flagship sedan will be making an appearance right before this year’s Geneva Motor Show event kicks off. The upcoming Superb model comes with a bigger dimension yet lighter weight when compared to its predecessor. According to the automaker, the Superb will prove to be the company’s best vehicle ever. The car will be based on the platform used for the Volkswagen Passat B8 and its design will be heavily influenced by the Skoda VisionC concept car.
In case you forget, there have already been quite a decent number of teasers, spy shots and official preview images of the upcoming Skoda Superb model. All these have led to the likeliness of the car having a sleek rear fascia with its trunk capacity achieves the figure of 625 liters. Yet, when the rear seats are folded, owners can expect a total trunk capacity of 1,760 liters.
In addition to that, the incoming model of the Skoda Superb will also have 80 mm extra length for its wheelbase. This will give the rear passengers a more spacious legroom. And, since the car is actually using the platform used by the VW Passat B8, engine options are expected to be similar as well. A sporty version is believed to be available as well at a later date, but it won’t be bearing the vRS moniker, it seems.
