Italdesign Giugiaro Clipper concept is Volkswagen’s Model X

by SpeedLux

Italdesign Giugiaro has unveiled their new Clipper concept at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show.

Described as a sporty and versatile MPV, the Clipper is a relatively bland concept which is based on Volkswagen‘s MQB platform. Talking about the styling, the concept has butterfly front doors and gull-wing rear doors. The Clipper also has a pillarless design which offers easy access to the second and third row seats.

If we talk about the interior, it is decidedly high-tech as it boasts an assortment of displays including a “floating” digital instrument cluster that breaks up information into two different screens. We can also see an 11-inch touchscreen display that is mounted on an electronically adjustable center console. The model also has two-tone Alcantara upholstery and four iPad Minis that are integrated into the headrests of the first and second row seats.

Under the hood, power is provided by two electric motors that generate an output of 149 HP (110 kW) each. This gives the concept an all-wheel drive system and a combined output of 220 kW (299 kW). Thanks to this setup, the MPV can hit a top speed of 204 kmph (126 mph) and cover the range of up to 540 km (335 miles) on a single charge.
