While dozens of automakers are busy showcasing their new car models in the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Japanese automaker Toyota is taking a different approach. Instead of going to Paris, France, the company in question has recently decided to officially introduce a limited edition of the Toyota 86, the Toyota 86 14R60.
Toyota fans must have known that the model gets its inspiration from the 86 Griffon Concept. It sports an aggressive body kit with noticeable custom front bumper, new side skirts and also fender flares that have now been extended. The car in question also features a rear diffuser, a carbon fiber roof, canards, dual exhaust pipes in the center of the rear end, rear wing spoiler and a set of 18” rims made of forged magnesium.
It turns out that the Japanese automaker has also given some sporty atmosphere inside the car cabin. The cabin is decorated with carbon fiber trims, sports seats that have very light weight, orange color with some rather contrasting stitches, custom floor mats, TDR sill plates and a leather steering that is wrapped in Alcantara leather.
The car turns out to be quite sporty under the hood as well. It runs on a 2.0L engine which has four inline cylinders. There is even an auxiliary cooler in addition to high flow air filter as well as optimized air intake. As such, the car can offer 200 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque. Customers that buy this car will also be spoilt by its manual 6-speed gearbox, quick throw transmission shifter, high performance clutch and lightweight fly wheel.
It is estimated that the car will cost approximately $57,830 when it finally goes to mass production. Rumor has it there will not be more than a hundred examples of the model produced by the Japanese car manufacturer.
