Jeep has announced its latest 4×4 vehicle launch, the Grand Cherokee S-Limited SUV, ahead of order books opening later this month. The new SUV from Jeep features the 6.4-litre V8 seen in the Grand Cherokee SRT is removed in favor of the company’s 3.0-litre V6 CRD diesel with new-generation 1.8-bar injectors and MultiJet II technology from Fiat.
This whole setup results in offering a downsize of 237bhp of power output, all together, but jeep has yet to release the official performance figures for the UK market, but customers can be sure of this that the new SUV has a boosted fuel economy over the larger-engined models in the range at a cost of overall acceleration and load-carrying performance.
“Styled and targeted to the important sports-line SUV sub-segment and with a high level of equipment on offer, the S-Limited is very attractively priced and positioned,” claimed Nigel Land, brand director of Jeep Chrysler UK, at the launch. “With its sporting look this new addition will complete the Grand Cherokee range while appealing to a whole new group of customers.”
Some Standard features seen on the, Grand Cherokee S-Limited SUV are: a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, sports-style Nappa leather seats, racing-style pedals, Quadra-Lift air suspension, Quadra-Trac II 4-wheel drive, cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring. Infotainment system features an 825W Harman-Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and three sub-woofers, Uconnect navigation, And the Exterior Consists of black gloss 20in alloy wheels, power tailgate and a distinctive black grille and rear light bar.
The Grand Cherokee S-Limited is due to go on sale later this month at a price of £44,595 on the road, Jeep has confirmed.
