A brand new yellow Lamborghini Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario recently met with an accident in Hong Kong.
Lamborghini had built only 100 units of this special Aventador to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary and one of them mate with this ugly accident at Hong Kong. As per the local media it happened during a test drive and the car was virtually new as it still had the protective plastic wrap on the passenger seat.
The accident took place in a rocky mountainside area and apparently due to a wet road surface and possibly excessive speed the driver lost control of the Aventador and hit the rocks on the side of the road, causing some significant damages to the front-left of the supercar.
The LP 720-4 50 Anniversario costs around 6 million HKD (approximately 800,000 USD) in Hong Kong and comes equipped with an uprated 6.5-liter V12 engine outputting 720 HP (529 kW) which is further mated to an ISR gearbox. This enables the super car to achieve 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 2.9 seconds before going on to hit a top speed of 217 mph (350 kmph).
