With Bugatti bringing the curtains down on its iconic Veyron 16.4 model, millionaires or rather billionaires around the world have one car less in their list of purchases.
The last car to be sold by the company was at a price of $1.7 million and picked up by an unnamed European customer who though will have to wait until next fall to get his prize for the paid price.
There have been just 300 units of the Veyron produced till now during the 7 years that it has been in production, which includes the various special edition models as well. In its turn the Veyron has been proved to be the best performance car amongst all supercars.
Its not without reason as the car could accelerate to three figure speed mark (100 km/hr or 62 m/hr) in just 2.3 seconds. Top speed of the car is in excess of 400 kmph or 250 mph, all of which can be attributed to the massive 8.0 litre W16 engine with no less than four turbochargers which directed 1.001 horses to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. If that’s not enough, there is also the Super Sport model that has a power rating of 1,200 hp and top speeds of 415 kmph or 258 mph.
However, if one is yet willing to shell out $285,000 more than the coupe version, the top Veyron Grand Sport is yet on sale. Apart from that initial cost, one will however be required to shell out $20,000 for its annual service or $35,000 for a set of Michelin tires that would be needed every 10,000 miles or 16,000 km.
