One month ago, one executive of the USA division of the Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi, claimed that the company would be introducing a special edition of its Lancer Evo X. It was said that this model would mark the end of the Lancer Evo X moniker. Well, it seems that the company has fulfilled its promise. There has now been an image depicting what will supposedly be called the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Concept. Set to make its world debut between January 9 and 11, 2015, at the Tokyo Auto Salon, this final edition of the Evo X will use the GSR variant for its base.
Of course, as a special edition vehicle, the car comes with a lot of extra features. For a start, the car will now come with chrome finishing on its front grille. A spoiler can also be seen sitting firmly on the rear fascia of the car. The visual upgrades of the car will also incorporate gloss paint jobs on its spare parts and a matte black paint job for its body.
Yet, when it comes to performance, this last edition of the Lancer Evo X will have a 2.0L turbocharged engine from HKS. Mated to a new ECU, cooling system, exhaust, intake and a 5-speed manual transmission, the engine will give the car 473 hp of total power output. In addition to all those stuffs, the car will also feature HKS sport suspensions with adjustable height, 19-inch tires from Yokohama and forged aluminum wheels from RAYS.
In comparison, the regular variant of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder DOHC engine with 16 valves, intercooler and turbocharger. This engine is capable of delivering 291 hp as well as 406 Nm of maximum power output and torque, respectively.
