by Sebastian Bivin

Even if this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the next-generation Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, now we can see these bauty from a unique angle.

If we look at the second lot of spyshots from Danish website ProStreet.dk we can see the new model from Mercedes-Benz (2012 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG) being tested at the Nurburgring. It seens that the sixth-generation R231 SL will be a completely new car when unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Because this car is still wearing heavy camouflage it’s difficult for us to tell what the modifications are. It is clear that the SL will get a new nose, similar to the SLS. Also obvious from the photos is the use of the SLK’s Magic Sky Control system, which can lighten or darken depending on the drivers preference. Beside this, the car will also feature redesigned headlights and LED running lights.

There are some rumors that Mercedes will fit the 2012 SL63 AMG with the new 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine, which is available in various outputs. Also the 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG is expected to get a 536 hp and 800 Nm of torque version. In addition to this rumors saying that Mercedes-Benz will offer a Performance Package for the 2012 SL63 AMG. This will increase the output of the car to 563 hp and 900 Nm of torque, but these are just suppositions for now,

Of course, we’ll have more information on the 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG as it is released. Until then you can see the most recent spy pics in the gallery below.
