Jota has officially revealed their new Mazda MX-5 GT after a long year of development and testing. Now Mazda has handed over the project in its entirety to the Le Mans specialist race team.
Drawing inspiration from the concept that debuted at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the MX-5 GT is based on the MX-5 Roadster Coupe Sport Tech and comes fitted with an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates an output of 203 hp (151 kW). This enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 kmph) in 6.4 seconds and can hit a limited top speed of 140 mph (225 kmph).
Other features that from part of this car include, a brilliant black roof, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, anthracite alloy wheels, Bilstein dampers and leather Recaro seats. The customer will also have an option to include a carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber rear spoiler and an Öhlins suspension.
The MX-5 GT is a special model as it is hand-finished to order at Jota and available for sale exclusively from Lodge Garage Mazda in Aylesbury, UK. The pricing kicks off from £ 29,995 (which is approx $ 48,430 / € 35,430).
