Lightweight, Hardcore Cayman Clubsport coming from Porsche

by Alex

The webby rumor has news about the Porsche Cayman Clubsport that is coming up as the next for its cousin model the 2011 Boxster Spyder. That was a sports car of the lightweight days. The Porsche Cayman on the other hand would be a modern interpretation of the same with added power and handling features.

Engine fitted would be a 3.4 liter six cylinder flat design one delivering 333 hp. The suspension to be paired with this engine would be a 20 mm lower version of the PASM suspension found in Porsche sports cars. Doors from aluminium and door pulls of fabric an option lexan window and lightweight hatch would make for its lightweight features. The weight savings that is being accrued is 162 to 184 pounds when compared to the standard Cayman S.

The curb weight would be approximately 2,814 pounds or less and close to the curb weight of the Boxster spyder which is 2.811 pound. The engine power rating is 13 hp more than the standard Cayman S. improved and suspension that has been lowered provides for the rise in overall performance of this car.

For price the standard of Boxster could be taken which is $61,000 and it would be a bit higher. The concept is expected to be presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show this year but there is a possibility of the car popping up much prior to that.
