The luxury automaker from the US soil, Lincoln, has taken the liberty of introducing the 2015 model year Continental concept car. The introduction takes place just before the 2015 New York Auto Show event takes place.
It seems that the luxury US automaker has once again chosen to use the legendary ‘Continental’ moniker for its vehicle model. This concept car seems to preview what the company is preparing for next year, a full-size luxury sedan model. Surprisingly enough, the car will feature a split-wing style front grille design. In addition to that, the car will also be coming with sleekly designed LED matrix headlamps flanking a newly designed chrome layout. These headlamps will also feature the company’s laser assist high beam technology as standard.
The concept that the company is introducing here has its body wrapped in the Rhapsody Blue metallic hue with E-latch door handles that seem to disappear into the beltline of the body of the vehicle. In addition, the car can also be seen sitting firmly on a set of polished aluminum wheels measuring 21 inches in diagonal.
For its power, the car counts on a 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine that is exclusive to Lincoln. The car has its power delivered to the rear wheels. Buyers of this particular vehicle model from Lincoln will also get to enjoy a number of advanced technologies, including Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Protection, Enhanced Park Assist and also MyLincoln Touch Screen that displays footage gathered from the vehicle’s 360-degree camera.
As if those are not enough, buyers of the vehicle will even receive a wide array of luxury amenities inside the cabin. To begin with, there are 30-way seats that have even been patented by Lincoln. In addition to that, the car has an ambient LED lighting with soft gold illumination and a front passenger seat which users can recline just with the press of a button. The rear passengers have not been neglected, either. They are given the freedom to control the climate settings of the vehicle as well as the onboard Revel Ultima sound system. The latter comes with three surround modes, on-stage, audience and stereo.
To make the car even more interesting, it is equipped with an SPD SmartGlass tinted sunroof. This enables the passengers inside the vehicle to control the heat that comes from direct sunlight. With the touch of a button, the glass will cool down the cabin by some 18 degrees Fahrenheit while at the same time blocking 99% of the UV rays generated by the sunshine. Detachable travel cases made of the leather material, a champagne storage compartment and also rear lap trays can all be expected, too.
People will be able to see the 2015 Lincoln Continental concept car at this year’s New York Auto Show event.
