Indian auto maker Mahindra has introduced its e2o electric automobile in the UK. e2o has a claimed range of 79 miles. A three-door hatchback with 4 seats, it has been developed specifically for easy urban travelling and is also available to buy online now, with deliveries beginning in May.

The e2o is the successor to the G-Wiz, and it will cost about ₤ 12,995 ($18,463 when UK grants have actually been applied), a rate more than double that of its Indian equivalent which costs around ₤ 6000 ($8,524). The e20 is an upgraded variation of its Indian equivalent, with more safety equipment, a bigger battery, and a greater quality interior.

The cost range makes it more costly than the Renault Twizy, which starts at ₤ 6895 ($9,796), but more affordable than vehicles like the Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf, which cost ₤ 18,445 ($26,206) and ₤ 25,790 ($36,642) respectively.
