The Italian automaker, Maserati, is currently testing the upcoming Levante vehicle model. The company may not have released images and details of the aforementioned vehicle model just yet. Nonetheless, its upcoming vehicle model has been spotted recently while undergoing factory test. In fact, there are not only one but two examples of the Maserati Levante that have been caught on camera.
Taking a quick look at the vehicle, it may remind us of the Maserati Ghibli, only jacked up somehow. The Levante, however, is the Italian marquee’s first ever crossover model and basically speaking, it is a production version spawned from the Italian company’s Kubang concept car introduced back in the year 2011. The car takes advantage of the same chassis as the one that underpins the company’s Ghibli model. Yet, the Levante features a wider body, a higher ride height and also the Q4 all-wheel-drive (AWD) drivetrain, modified. Unfortunately, so far, there is really nothing much to report, it seems, especially keeping in mind that the exterior and interior of the vehicle are actually similar to those of the company’s Ghibli model. Add that to the fact that the company is not yet willing at all to reveal the production goodies that its latest vehicle will bring along with it.
The upcoming Levante from Maserati will reportedly enter manufacturing process in the city of Turin in Italy. The car will then make its debut at next year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) event that will take place January next year in Detroit. Sales are expected to begin shortly afterwards. If you remember correctly, the company is planning to release four new models and the Levante is just one of them. After the Maserati Levante will come the Maserati Alfieri Coupe (debuting next year), Maserati Alfieri Cabrio (debuting in 2017) and the next generation Maserati GranTurismo Coupe (debuting in 2018).
